On 14 March, 1986, a baby boy who was no older than a few hours old was discovered in bloody blankets near the banks of Lake Mohegan in Fairfield. He suffered a broken jaw, had been strangled and his face had been mutilated. Surrounding his body, the killer had placed coins and pieces of fruit, indicating the baby boy was part of a sadistic ritual involving Palo Mayombe. The case was never solved, however in 2012, authorities reported that they had new leads.
